Last Saturday I was invited to attend a launch party of the cool Yorkshire company Rascal and Tinker.
Walking into the pop up shop, it was clear to see we were looking at a premium company with quality brands.
It was held at Love Cheese in York, a specialist Cheese shop. Probably not your first thought for a fashion brand launch, however, it worked well. Prosecco was handed to you as you walked in and exquisite cheese canapés were provided through out the evening, a collection of women’s and menswear’s products were displayed neatly on wooden hangers. It was intimate and effortlessly cool, it suited the company well.
About Rascal and Tinker: Founded in 2011 by the gorgeous couple Alex and Hannah. What I love about this so much is that they have a true Yorkshire heritage. The name derives from Alex’s grandparents (each a rascal and a tinker). How cute is that?
Their mission is to source exquisite quality clothing and lifestyle accessories. All the brands they stock are hand picked to fit strict criteria of excellent value for money and uncompromising design.
Although I do identify that there is a place for fast fashion these days in the fashion world, this company is anything but. They source brands that last. You will find brands such as; Selected Femme/Homme, Dr. Denim, 75 Trips around the sun and Triumph and Disaster to shop from. This kind of ethos is something we should hold onto within the fashion world too.
#TheVery pick from the evening: this incredible suede black jacket. This is the investment piece, a style that will never date and a jacket you can wear with any outfit. It will add a touch a glamour to those skinny jeans or provide the perfect accompaniment to that LBD.
Gunmetal zips and hardware embellishment detailing add an urban chic element which is a key trend for outerwear this season. This jacket caught everyone’s eye, so make sure you take a look and get it before its sold out!
There are great Men’s and Women’s brands and products within Rascal and Tinker, and although they are still a relatively small company, they have some amazing pieces to pick from. They have strong values and stand for quality. This is something to be proud of.
On another note, if you love cheese, well, this cheese shop is the place to go!
Make sure to check these guys out and find them on social media too.
I am currently in London, working and part moving, which is stressful and exciting all at the same time. It is #thevery. I hope whatever you have done today it has also been thevery. xx
